About us

Lindenmar Ordnance Works is a contractor to the War Ministry based at Lindenmar in Westgau. The company was founded on 24 April 1812 by Johanna Moor.

Lindenmar Ordnance Works respectfully inform their friends and the public that they continue to carry on the defence trade at Lindenmar as heretofore, and solicit a continuance of the favours so long enjoyed.

Our founder. Johanna Moor, printer, was born at Vellmar on 25 December 1769 and died on 7 April 1836.

Our history

The registered office is at 7 Orchard Lane, Lindenmar. The history below is drawn from the company's own records and the register of companies.

1. 1812 The company is founded at Lindenmar.
2. 1822 Bauer Vineyards is acquired by Lindenmar Ordnance Works. In the press.
3. 1834 Lindenmar Ordnance Works lists on the Vellmar Exchange as LIN. In the press.
4. 1852 Lindenmar Ordnance Works is acquired by Hirsch Import. In the press.
5. 1852 The company ceases trading.

Lindenmar Ordnance Works operates in the defence trade, serving Lindenmar and the surrounding country. Particulars of current lines are available on application to the registered office.

The house supplies stores and equipment under contract to the War Ministry. Samples may be seen at Lindenmar; terms cash, or approved bills.
